"Gig" was always a fun guy. I remember, he was in our group playing cards at dinner time in grade 12.
I hadn't seen him since graduation.
One of the biggest memories that I had was one afternoon, a bunch of us took off at noon from school and went to the Windsor Exhibition. I can't remember if it was grade 11 or 12.
Gig drove us in his (I could be wrong...) 1954 Hudson Coupe. You could see down through the floor anywhere. We went on a few different rides at the Ex. Gig and I went on the "Zipper ride". The guys who worked there loved that one. There was change falling everywhere and they wouldn't let anyone go pick it up (safety issue! Yeah right!!). Anyways Gig's keys went flying out of the seats we were sitting on. When we got off the ride, the guy in charge of it said, "Sorry, you ain't allowed over there!" Now Gig was as mad as a Hornet. He wasn't a very big guy, but he wasn't going to let anyone stop him from getting his car keys. He said, "You can't stop me from going over there and getting them" So he did.
My thoughts are with Gary's family at this time.
