Aunt Phyllis was a one of a kind woman and she is sorely missed. When we both entered the teaching profession, she was truly proud - her words were genuine and she would have so many questions about our students, our classes and our experiences as new teachers. She told countless stories of her own love for her students and her colleagues and it was evident that she was a dedicated teacher who touched the lives of many. Aunt Phyllis was never pleased if you didn't take a second helping of dinner. Her competitive spirit came out in full force during a game of cards and she would be the first one to tease Trevor in the morning about her big win the night before. We love you Aunt Phyllis and miss your smile, your tenacity and your kind heart. Our thoughts are with you Tom. Love Jen and Trevor.

We will miss Aunt Phyllis and her spirited way. She was true to her profession all of her life and taught us many great things about living. Some of our favourite life lessons from Aunt Phyllis are: - You don't need to change your own opinion to suit someone else. - Berries in season should be savoured. - Dedication to a team builds character and friendship. - A loving family finds common ground to share over and over through the years and a mother and wife's will to love hockey is very suitable common ground. - You should always play sequence with tenacity. - When you feel generous, offer it. - Always make family feel at home in yours. - Always have chocolate on hand. - Honest devotion will be reciprocated. Aunt Phyllis you were beautiful inside and out. We love you.

Aunt P was a sweet soul and a tough broad. She was equal parts quiet, strong, and hilarious.
She was always warm, welcoming, and so very kind to me. She took such pride in her home and her family.
And she was also masterful at well-timed one-line zingers and jelly salads. She stood tall. And she was defiant against time. I admired her tenacity. And I hope wherever she is, it is beautiful, there's a hockey game on, Rob is there, and there is no pain.
