Nécrologie de Herbert "Bert" Bussey

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Herbert “Bert” Bussey, at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Ottawa, Ontario on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the age of 77.

Bert was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland on May 30, 1948.

He is survived by his children Michael Bussey (Holly) and Sheryl Khanna (Paul); his grandchildren Adelaide and Evelyn Bussey, and Lillian and Victoria Khanna; the mother of his children Sybil Dianne Bussey (née Hudson); his siblings Pauline, Harold, Leonard, Eric and Lorraine; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by his parents Harold John Bussey and Julia Cavell Bussey (née Hiscock); and by his sister Cavell.

Bert will be fondly remembered by his colleagues and friends at both Statistics Canada and Hulse, Playfair & McGarry Funeral Homes in Ottawa.

A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral, 414 Sparks St., Ottawa, ON, K1R 0B2, (613) 236-9149 on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 10 a.m.  Entombment, Christ Church Cathedral Columbarium.

Donations to Ottawa Humane Society or Kanata United Church would be appreciated by the family.
